This is all about you, for you. Journaling is designed to help you to come back to yourself. What I mean by that, is we have so many hats we wear, labels, or tasks we are continually doing instead of merely being. It is very easy to get caught up in a very fast pace way of life until we are ultimately forced by illness or trauma to start slowing down and to recognise what we need on a physical, mental or spiritual level.

 

Journaling helps you to start rebuilding that relationship with yourself, to notice and recognise your own needs and patterns enabling you to make choices based on your own cycles and needs that are uniquely yours.

 

I created the following sections in - The Daily Journal:


Dream Journal

By writing down your dreams regularly, you can better understand your subconscious thoughts, emotions and experiences during sleep. This can help you analyse your dreams, patterns, meaning or insights and it can be a tool for personal growth, self-reflection and even creativity.

Quality of Sleep

Good sleep hygiene is essential to our day-to-day wellbeing.

Ideally create a comfortable sleeping environment.

 

Time Asleep

It is important to maintain a regular sleep schedule and engage in relaxation techniques.

Obviously, life can get in the way sometimes.

 

Today I Am Grateful For: 

There are three sections available to help you focus on and appreciate the positive aspects of your life. It is like keeping a dairy of things you are thankful for. By doing this, you train your mind to notice and remember the good things, which can boost your mood and create a more positive outlook. Gratitude is a powerful and positive emotion that can improve your overall well-being and perspective on life. Taking time to reflect on the things you're grateful for can help you focus on the positives.

 

Examples of Today I am Grateful For:

 

1.        Good Health : If you woke up feeling healthy and free from illness, that's a significant reason to be grateful.

2.        Loved Ones : The presence of family and friends who support and care for you can bring immense gratitude.

3.        A Roof Over Your Head : Having a safe and comfortable place to live is something many people in the world don't have.

4.        Food to Eat : Access to nutritious and delicious food is a blessing that's easy to take for granted.

5.        Employment : If you have a job, be grateful for the opportunity to earn a living and develop your skills.

6.        Education : Access to education is a privilege that can open up numerous opportunities in life.

7.        Nature : The beauty of nature, whether it's a sunny day, a starry night, or a blooming flower, can fill you with gratitude.

8.        Moments of Joy : Small, everyday moments of happiness, like a good cup of coffee or a warm hug, can make your day better.

9.        Safety and Security : Living in a safe and stable environment is something many people around the world do not have.

10.         Freedom : Having the freedom to express yourself, choose your path in life, and make decisions is a precious gift.

11.       Kindness of Others : When someone shows you kindness or offers help, it's a reason to be grateful for the goodness in people.

12.         Achievements : Recognizing your accomplishments, no matter how small, can be a source of gratitude.

13.         Learning Opportunities : Every day is a chance to learn and grow, and that's something to be thankful for.

Remember to have fun with this, it does not need to be serious, if it brings a smile to you and you are grateful for it, write it down. Gratitude is a powerful and positive emotion which helps to find contentment in daily experiences.

Is to use positive statements to boost your self-confidence, motivation and mindset. By repeating affirmations every day, you aim to change your thinking and believe in your abilities, goals or self-worth. Feel into it, really believe your daily affirmations. It is like giving yourself a pep talk to feel more confident and optimistic, which can help you tackle challenges and achieve your desired outcomes.

Remember that the power of affirmations come from repetition and belief. You have to feel like you are already in that state of mind, feel it, think it, believe it, taste it.

Record meals on a daily basis to help with a calorie deficit.

 

Menstrual Cycle:

The purpose of tracking your menstrual cycle can help in many ways. To predict and plan your periods. Identify irregularities, fertility or symptoms of peri menopause. In essence serving as a tool for better understanding and managing your reproductive health and overall wellbeing.

 

 

Mood Tracker:

This helps to monitor how you feel on a particular day.

 

Astrological Event:

Have you heard the term “Mercury is in Retrograde” these astrological events can and do have an impact on us as individuals and collectively. To track, note positions, and movements of planets and the stars, it can help to give us personal insights and a way for people to connect with the cosmos.

Moon Phase:

Recording moon phases can be a way to stay in tune with nature, plan activities or take part in spiritual or cultural activities. Or simply appreciate the beauty of the night sky.

 

Whilst the moons gravitational pull affects Earths tides, there are minimal scientific research to suggest that this is the case with humans. I believe that not to be true. Just ask anyone whom works within the public sector and with the general public on certain moon phases. Or look at social media posts with people unable to sleep or bizarre dreams around the time or new or full moon.

 

The idea of recording this is to see how it affects you and how to work with those phases in the future.

 

Act of Self Care:

It’s like giving yourself a little break, an act of showing kindness to yourself. It is about taking time for yourself to recharge, relax which can help to reduce stress. It can be something as simple as running yourself a bath with candles, or going for a walk-in nature.

 

Body Positive:

Is to encourage us to embrace and feel good about our bodies as they are right now.

To boost self esteem and to help appreciate and respect our bodies.

 

A Lesson I Learned Today:

Is to gain insight, wisdom or knowledge from experiences or the experiences of others. To help make better decisions and avoid repeating mistakes and grow as a person for a more fulfilling and successful future.

 

Three Great Things That Happened Today:

Is to shift focus towards positive aspects of your day.

 

Meditation:

This section is to help you track and reflect on your mediation practice. It allows you to record your thoughts, experiences and progress during meditation sessions.

Please do remember, it is called a practice for a reason. All you need is to allow yourself to imagine.


Thoughts And Reflections:

This is the space for you to clear your mind and put your feelings and ideas on paper. This can help organise and make sense of your thoughts, emotions and experiences.

Which can reduce stress, improve self-awareness, and provide a sense of clarity.

 

In a nutshell, journalling is to help bring some peace, insights and clarity to your world. Should that be with the journal that I have created, an alternative, or simply a blank page for you to express yourself and get those thoughts and feelings out of your head, can help dramatically.
